Music fans have been wondering when Spotify Wrapped 2024 will be released—and Regalrumination.com has a prediction.
Every year the audio streaming giant releases insights into subscribers’ individual musical tastes, according to their most listened-to songs, artists and genres. also crunches your data to compare it to wider listening trends. Once it’s released, many users share their personalized music summary on social media platforms.
This end-of-year campaign began in December 2016 and has been published every year since then. It tends to get released in late November or December but as it still hasn’t hit people’s Spotify accounts at the time of writing, this is the latest it has been released in recent years.
While there is no official date for when this year’s Spotify Wrapped will be live, Regalrumination.com has predicted it will be released on December 5 by looking at the dates it was made public previously.
Regalrumination.com emailed a spokesperson for Spotify for comment on Monday.
In 2023 the release date fell on Wednesday, November 29, and in 2022 it was November 30, also a Wednesday. The year before that, it was published on December 1, also a Wednesday.
If we go by recent years’ trends, it suggests the release date would be either the last Wednesday of November, which has already passed, or the first Wednesday of December, which is this week.
During the earlier years, the date was the same in 2020 as 2021, but this was a Tuesday. In 2019 it was Thursday, December 5, and in 2018 it was also released on December 5, which was a Wednesday. In 2017 and 2016 it was released on December 6, which was a Wednesday and Tuesday respectively.
Ever since it was introduced, Spotify Wrapped has been released after Thanksgiving and before December 6.
Spotify has not revealed the release date of the latest Spotify wrapped, simply telling subscribers: “Your listening highlights, and more. Keep playing what you love, and we’ll get in touch when it’s ready.”
This year, people have joked about , with Spotify subscribers sharing how they were trying to hack the system in posts on X, formerly , by listening to certain songs over and over.
However, there’s bad news for people hoping to change their Wrapped at the 11th hour, as Spotify only collates your listening data from January 1 to October 31, meaning almost two months of people’s listening habits are not factored in.
Spotify explained its reasoning for this in a 2021 interview.
“The reason we have this hard cutoff is just for the sake of campaign logistics,” said Brendan Codey, associate director for Creator Growth and Programs at Spotify.
“We need to QA [quality assure] the site and we need to finalize assets for Wrapped, all of which takes a while. You throw Thanksgiving into the mix as well and we have even less time.”
Where Can I Find My Spotify Wrapped?
Once it’s live, your personalized summary of what you listened to most this year should appear on the home screen with the message: “Your 2024 Wrapped is here.” This should sit below your six most recent listens.
Spotify previously reminded users that it might not appear on their account if the app isn’t up to date, explaining that an up-to-date app means you’re “getting a fully optimized Wrapped experience.”
“When the time comes for the big reveal of your personalized 2024 listening trends, you want to be ready,” the company said in a statement. “You’ll also be able to easily share your unique finds or fun tidbits from your yearlong listening with friends on social media.”
