PRINCE GEORGE, Va. (WWBT) – A Hopewell man is recovering after being struck by a car on Oaklawn Boulevard.

Police were called to Oaklawn Boulevard near Petersburg National Battlefield Park on Tuesday, just before 5:30 a.m., for a report of a man being struck by a car.

“The initial investigation revealed that a 33-year-old male from the City of Hopewell was walking westbound on the roadway when he was struck by a 2019 Chevrolet 2500 pickup traveling westbound on Oaklawn Boulevard,” Prince George Police Department

Police say the man sustained significant injuries; however, medical crews were able to stabilize him at the scene before he was transported by med flight to a hospital for treatment.

The driver involved in the incident stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the police.
