Meghan Markle’s Alleged “Cruel” Remarks About Princess Charlotte Caused a Rift with Kate Middleton, Claim Reports. It seems the ongoing divide between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle has only been exacerbated by some alleged comments the Duchess of Sussex made about Princess Charlotte. 

Tensions were running high in the lead-up to Meghan and Prince Harry’s 2018 wedding. Rumors swirled at the time that Kate was moved to tears during a disagreement with Meghan over the bridesmaid dresses. 

According to a new book, Meghan’s purported remarks about Princess Charlotte “reduced Kate to tears.” Apparently, Meghan compared the young royal to her close friend Jessica Mulroney’s daughter Ivy, and the comparison was not favorable.

Initially, it was reported that Meghan had made Kate cry, but Meghan later clarified that it was actually the other way around. She said Kate had apologized and sent her flowers after their dispute.

The book also claims there was a separate disagreement between the duchesses over the length of Princess Charlotte’s dress for the wedding. Kate supposedly felt it was too short and ill-fitting, but Meghan was unwilling to compromise.

In her interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan acknowledged there had been an issue with the flower girl dresses, but she said Kate had owned up to it and apologized. 

“It wasn’t a confrontation, and I actually think it’s… I don’t think it’s fair to her to get into the details of that, because she apologized,” Meghan said.

It seems these reported clashes in the lead-up to the 2018 royal wedding laid the groundwork for the rift that has persisted between Kate and Meghan ever since. The two have struggled to see eye-to-eye, despite their similar positions as outsiders joining the royal family.
