Prince Harry called Princess Kate after she left the UK, but she would not play peacemaker. Prince Harry is now estranged from most of the royal family but is still trying to contact Princess Kate, an expert has claimed. Prince Harry has reportedly reached out to Princess Kate following his feud with the royal family, but she has refused to play peacemaker. Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped down as members of the royal family in 2020 and moved to California.
Their rift with the family deepened over interviews they gave, including the Netflix documentary and the Duke’s memoir, “Spare.” Although Harry and his brother, Prince William—Kate’s husband—barely speak, a royal expert has claimed he has communicated with the princess since moving to the U.S.
Royal writer Tom Quinn told the Mirror that since leaving the UK, Harry has contacted at least one member of the royal family: Kate. She is sympathetic but fully supportive of her husband and has no intention of playing peacemaker, especially while struggling with her own health problems. The Princess of Wales announced in a video posted online on March 22nd that she was receiving preventive chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer.
Harry and Meghan posted a public message of support for Kate upon hearing the news, saying, “We wish health and recovery to Kate and the family and hope they can do so in privacy and peace.” It is also understood that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reached out to her privately, but the extent of their contact is not known.
Harry and William’s relationship remains in tatters, with a friend of King Charles and Queen Camilla saying any hopes the Duke has of reconciliation are a fantasy. “A meeting with Harry is the last thing William or Catherine wants or needs right now,” a source close to the Prince of Wales told The Daily Beast. “It’s not about apologies or who said what; it’s about protecting his family. Kate is recovering from cancer, and they are avoiding stressful situations.”
There were rumors that the King was as keen as his younger son to patch things up and perhaps extend an invitation to the Sussexes to join the family at Balmoral. However, another source denied the claims, saying, “The idea of Harry and his children descending on Balmoral this summer is just wishful thinking. It’s all very sad,” Christopher Anderson, author of “The King: The Life of Charles III,” told Fox News Digital. “Charles and William chose to ignore Harry, to freeze him out, to not let him get under their pressure when they were facing a lot of criticism. In a way, I think that’s sadder. It has been said that hatred is not the opposite of love, but rather indifference.”
Harry did not meet any senior members of the royal family when he was in London earlier this month to attend the 10th anniversary ceremony of the Invictus Games.
