In a video posted to the Chiefs’ social media accounts on Saturday, some players named their favorite Kendrick Lamar and SZA songs.
Nose tackle Mike Pennel said his favorite song of SZA’s was “Snooze” from her 2022 album SOS and his favorite song from Lamar was “P&P” featuring Ab Soul released in 2009.
Guard Trey Smith said his favorite songs that Lamar and SZA worked on together: “All The Stars” from the Black Panther: The Album released in 2018, “Luther” from his 2024 GNX album and “30 for 30” from the 2024 SOS Deluxe: LANA album.
Offensive tackle Wanya Morris also mentioned SZA’s “Snooze” before offensive tackle Kingsley Suamataia chimed in with “30 for 30.” Morris also listed “Swimming Pools (Drank)” from Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city (Deluxe) album released in 2012 as one of his favorites.
Defensive end Malik Herring wrapped up the video by repeating the title of his favorite Lamar song, “peekaboo” featuring AzChike from GNX.

The festivities include a strong lineup of Louisiana-native artists to celebrate the host city.
Jazz musician Jon Batiste will perform the national anthem, accompanied in American Sign Language by actress Stephanie Nogueras.
R&B legend Ledisi is set to perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” often referred to as the Black national anthem.
Trombone Shorty and Christian artist Lauren Daigle will perform “America the Beautiful” during the pregame ceremonies, according to Vogue.

Rapper Kendrick Lamar announced that he would be headlining the Super Bowl halftime show with a YouTube video in September 2024, in which he said, “Will you be pulling up? I hope so.”
