Job description: Working closely with the College, Enrollment Management Office, the International Education Office, and other colleges and departments, this position is responsible for all aspects of COE recruitment, with a primary focus on international bachelor, master’s and PhD students. Individual will adhere to current UTA admission requirements and policies when meeting with students. Will support all domestic and international recruiting endeavors as needed, including outreach to high schools, community colleges, universities and other organizations to students. May assist with training of student ambassadors and other staff roles. Will assist with implementation of metrics to measure success of recruitment to enrollment and communication strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Working collaboratively with stakeholders to promote and explain all COE academic programs and admission requirements to schools, universities, professional organizations, partner corporations, business organizations, and professional organizations.
- Working with the Director and Assistant Director, create and present information appropriate to the audience about student resources, engineering programs, application processes and other relevant topics at UTA and other events. Domestically, these may include Maverick Experience, Senior Academic Excellence Days, orientations and similar program.
- In collaboration with the Director and Assistant Director, develop, implement and manage the international recruitment and marketing strategies for the college’s undergraduate and graduate programs. This would include social media, print and on-line marketing.
- Keep prospects informed by maintaining accurate communication from initial inquiry through the stages of application to enrolled student. Assist in the transition to campus and appropriate departments. Continuously learn and update relevant program knowledge base to provide accurate information and communications.
- Conduct college/high school/advising center visits, information sessions, and other special events.
- Represent COE and UTA at college/career fairs, conferences, high school/community college/university recruitment events, and other opportunities as needed. Events include, but are not limited to, international tours, virtual and in-person partner/agency information sessions, TACRAO/ TACAC/ IACAC and similar events, and UTA hosted events. These may require night or weekend commitments as well as extended international travel.
- Work collaboratively with Enrollment Management, International Education Office, COE, and interested stakeholders in planning, implementing, forecasting enrollments and travel options for optimum results.
- Organize, plan and execute travel to selected and vetted locations to bolster student interest at all levels.
- Conduct follow-up procedures on recruitment trips and events using internal and external contacts, writing reports and updating student data inn Slate.
- Data includes events attended, student contact numbers and other points as needed. Share reports with stakeholders.
- Foster relationships with secondary schools, community colleges, professional organizations, and universities, nationally and internationally.
- Work with the COE Recruitment Director to create international and conference-based budgets.
- Participate in university and community committees as appropriate. This may include international committees, graduate committees and others deemed relevant to the position.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a related field, with a minimum of three (3) years’ higher education recruitment experience and 2 years’ international experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with marketing, including large territory management.
- Experience with Slate, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office Suite products and Zoom.
- Experience with international student recruitment of STEM students and international travel, in groups and solo. Second language.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of international education systems, foreign credential evaluation and relevant immigration regulations, i.e. F and J visa requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication and ability to work with a variety of people from varying backgrounds. Outstanding organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally. Working knowledge of acceptable domestic/international business practices.
