A woman who thought she had scored a great deal on last-minute tickets to see Coldplay in the United Arab Emirates quickly realized there was a reason for the bargain price.
Mais Mustafa, a Dubai resident, shared her experience on in that has since , garnering more than 60,000 likes.
Mustafa, 36, told Regalrumination.com that she had been eager to attend the concert and purchased tickets just two days before the event. Despite a warning that the seats came with a “restricted view,” she was optimistic.
“I thought to myself: How bad can it be?” Mustafa told Regalrumination.com.
The video, posted to her Instagram account @mais.mustafa on January 15, opens with Mustafa walking through a street, excitedly heading to the show.
An overlaid text on the video read: “POV: Buying Coldplay tickets last minute thinking it doesn’t matter where I’m sitting as long as I attend the concert.”
What followed was a harsh reality check. The next scene shows Mustafa at her seat, positioned behind a wall with only a sliver of the stage visible. A second text overlay humorously drives home the irony of her predicament: “The seat…”
“I booked two days before the concert with one of my cousins and was very excited that I was going to make it and watch them,” Mustafa said. “They cost $190.”
Her excitement quickly turned into disbelief upon reaching her assigned seat.
“We arrived to the concert full of excitement and energy and first met up with my other cousin and her friends who were in the same section but had different seats—they booked before us,” she said. “Later on, we decided to finally go to our seats and were surprised with how bad they were.
“It was kind of funny, honestly, and I thought it would be funny to share my story!”

Mustafa and her cousin, unwilling to let their poor vantage point ruin their night, found another place to stand and enjoyed the rest of the performance.
She later posted on the same day, with a positive review of the evening, that was captioned: “What a show!”
Mustafa, originally from Iraq, has lived in Dubai for over 25 years and has been active on social media since 2015.
“Funny story is that I actually started by posting cropped photos, without my face, because my husband found the idea of me being public hard to accept,” she said. “But of course, later on, I started receiving gifts and campaigns, and eventually I had to post photos normally!”
Despite the less-than-ideal seating situation, Mustafa holds no regrets about .
“At the end, my cousin and I moved and stood elsewhere so we could enjoy the concert,” she added.
Her viral video has resonated with many viewers online, leading to plenty of amused comments and from people across the world.
One viewer commented: “Did you at least hear them?”
“But still you can stand up and go somewhere you can enjoy the show which we did as well. We didn’t stay in our seats for the whole show,” another added.
“Haha, I did not see that coming,” a third viewer said.
For Mustafa, what began as a frustrating moment turned into a humorous memory—and a widely shared social media post.
“I was telling everyone I got so lucky,” Mustafa said.
Regalrumination.com reached out to Coldplay’s agents, publicists and managers for comment. Coldplay’s publicist, George Cochran, told Regalrumination.com that there is not “any comment from the band on this.”
