Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider has proved once and for all he really is a fan of his fans.
In a viral post, the singer and songwriter reached out to a mother named Angela, who turned to arts and crafts after she was unable to afford an official Twisted Sister T-shirt for her autistic son.
Sharing a picture of her own impressive drawing of Snider on a T-shirt, Angela wrote: “When your 9-year-old autistic child begs you [for a] shirt with @deesnider and @TwistedSisterNY but you are broke. Mommy helps him make his own. Not my best free hand but he’s happy.”
Snider himself then caught wind of Angela’s handiwork, reposting Angela’s post with a request for her to message over her mailing address so he could send a gift to her son.
At the time of writing, Snider’s post had 2.1 million views.
Regalrumination.com has reached out to Snider via his website and Angela, via social media, for comment.
Predictably Snider’s fans went wild over his generosity in the comments.
Independent music blog BLARE, which has a dedicated heavy metal music focus, wrote: “Mr. Snider is a class act. Always has been, always will be.”
Other users seemed to agree, with one social media user commenting ” is an absolute beauty of a guy” while another said that generous acts like Snider’s “change the world.”
But it didn’t stop there. One fan replied to Angela suggesting that she license her homemade T-shirts for a limited run and it seemed that Snider agreed—even offering to look the other way if she wanted to sell the shirts as unofficial merchandise.
Responding to this suggestion, Snider wrote: “There’s a lot about this shirt I don’t have authority over…but if Angela were to make copies of it and sell it I would absolutely “look the other way”. And I’d make sure everybody else associated with the band did as well!”
And this post, which currently has 360,900 views was just as well received with Snider’s fans, who praised him for his generosity and said they would buy the shirt if it was for sale.
Another fan even offered to print a run of the T-shirts for Angela at cost price.
In another post, Angela then wrote that she was working on a way to sell the T-shirts.
Replying to this, Snider wrote: “This is all beyond cool. So nice to see the light shined on a true hero. Thats you Angela and all the moms and dads like you taking care of Special needs children..”
Snider is known for , regularly engaging with his fans on X and taking the time to answer their questions.
Recently however, he used the platform to hit back at comments between him and his wife Suzette, a costume designer.
“Wait…what? She’s only 5 years younger than me! Lol!” Snider replied to a post.
