The 69-Day Silence: Is This the End of the Road for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle?

It’s been 69 days—almost two months—since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle last appeared in public together. 

In fact, they haven’t even spoken to each other directly during this time, with their communications reportedly being managed through their handlers. This growing distance has led to widespread speculation about the future of their relationship.

The situation bears a striking resemblance to the days when the media closely monitored the troubled relationship between Prince Charles and Princess Diana. 

Back then, the press kept count of their separations and public appearances together, creating an eerie sense of déjà vu now. So, is this truly the end for Harry and Meghan, or is it just part of a carefully orchestrated rebrand, one that separates them both for strategic purposes? 

The last time they were seen together publicly was on September 14th, at Tyler Perry’s birthday party. 

Meghan Markle appeared at the event, stepping out of the car with her husband in tow, but little did anyone know that it might have been one of their final public appearances as a couple. It’s a haunting thought: Did Meghan know that this could be the last time she would see Harry before the ongoing silence began?

Since then, things have shifted. Prince Harry’s schedule has been notably independent. He’s made solo appearances in New York, London, and even Africa, while Meghan has stayed out of the spotlight.

 Harry is reportedly even planning a Christmas event without Meghan, focusing on pre-recorded video calls with children and promoting his solo efforts. Meanwhile, Meghan’s only notable project recently was securing an executive producer credit for a documentary on polo, which has also received some controversy. 

Once inseparable, Harry and Meghan were often referred to as a dynamic duo, described by Meghan herself as the “salt and pepper” of their royal engagements. 

Their combined efforts were said to make them an unstoppable force for change, both in the world of philanthropy and as a couple. But now, their shared appearances have become increasingly rare, and it seems that their once-unbreakable bond is starting to crumble.

The ongoing tension has led many to wonder if divorce is inevitable. Some are asking whether Meghan will file first, or if it will be Harry who makes the move. 

One could argue that Harry, now aware of the negative impact Meghan’s presence has on his public image, might seek to separate from her. He’s already distancing himself from her in his public persona, focusing on projects that highlight his work alone, like his efforts to host solo events.

As for the children, some believe that neither Harry nor Meghan genuinely prioritize them. There’s speculation that there are no real children at all, and if there are, the couple may not be emotionally invested in them. 

If custody battles were to arise, some suggest that the children might be better off with their royal family in the UK.

The question remains: Is the 69-day separation a strategic move to reframe their image, or have they truly grown apart? Some argue that it’s all part of a public relations strategy designed to separate the Sussexes while maintaining their brand. 

Their absence from each other’s side might just be a way to recalibrate their individual identities.
