Amid Catherine’s ongoing battle against cancer, Prince William once again demonstrated his unwavering dedication as a husband and a loving father during his recent trip to Cornwall. While visiting the Isles of Scilly, William shared an update on his family, revealing that Catherine is progressing well in her treatment. He fondly mentioned how their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—were envious of his solo excursion.

It’s long been rumored that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge often spend their summer breaks on Tresco, where William himself enjoyed childhood holidays with his parents and brother. During his visit, Prince William mentioned indulging in morning swims and expressed a desire to extend his stay, although family responsibilities beckoned him home. He light-heartedly remarked, “The children will kill me if I don’t go home later.”

Prince William couldn’t resist sampling one of the southwest’s renowned savory treats during his stopover, hinting that he intended to bring some edible souvenirs back home for his family. It’s well known that Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are typically well-behaved during public appearances, adhering to the strict rules and protocols expected of the royal children. 

Even at home at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, when not with their parents, the children are under the care of their Norland nanny, Maria Borrallo, who ensures a structured routine including outdoor play, bike rides, and time with their dogs.

The children’s enthusiasm for outdoor activities aligns with their parents’ encouragement of exploration and nature appreciation. In a 2020 documentary, Prince William spoke of their love for being outdoors, noting George’s particular affinity for nature and his restlessness when cooped up indoors.

 Inside their home, one strict rule is absolute: no shouting. According to insiders, any hint of shouting between the children results in immediate intervention, where the “naughty child” is calmly taken aside for a “sofa chat” with either Catherine or William. This method emphasizes explanation and understanding rather than punitive measures.

Since Catherine bravely shared her cancer diagnosis and ongoing treatment in a video message to the public, the Wales family has maintained a low profile, spending quality time together during their Easter break. Prince William paused his official engagements to be with his children, and the family reportedly enjoyed a three-week retreat at their Norfolk residence, Anmer Hall.

Royal expert Jenny Bond noted that despite these personal challenges, Prince William remains vigilant about protecting his family during this difficult period for the royal household, especially with King Charles also undergoing treatment for cancer. 

Bond observed that William is likely to gradually increase his workload once Catherine and the children are ready for his return to public duties, with the support of Catherine’s parents, Carole and Mike Middleton, playing a crucial role in their adjustment process.
