The Kansas City Chiefs tight end started dating the “Karma” singer in the autumn of 2023, but before that, they hit a stumbling block when Kelce struggled to make contact at one of Swift’s shows. The star shared that he had a grand gesture in mind when he went to see Swift perform in Kansas City on July 8, 2023.
However, the road to true love wasn’t so smooth, as he didn’t get to talk to Swift at the event.
He ‘fessed up on the : “I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings. So I was a little butt hurt. I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”
He went on: “If you are up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it.”
When his brother, Jason Kelce, asked if he meant his phone number or his jersey number, Kelce laughed: “You know which one!”
Things worked out, as in September 2023, Swift was seen supporting Kelce at a game, watching as the Chiefs took on the Chicago Bears.
People wondered whether it was their first date, but Swift later revealed that she and Kelce had got together before that.
“By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple,” she told Time magazine in December 2023. “I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
