Swift didn’t miss a beat as her set malfunctioned during a show in New Orleans.
A segment during The Tortured Poets Department part of the Eras Tour sees a platform transporting Swift along the stage as she sings “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” However, things went wrong as she performed at Caesars Superdome on October 27, 2024.
shared on X, formerly , showed that Swift was on the white platform as usual, ready for it to glide along the stage as she performed the song. But it didn’t move after apparently getting stuck.
Handling the situation like a true professional, the star gave no indication that there had been a technical hitch and quickly slid off the platform and started walking down the stage instead, with her white dress flowing around her.
Her dancers didn’t pause either, following her down the runway without any interruption.
While the move was seamless, Swfities who are well versed in every beat of the Eras Tour were well aware of what usually happens, so they realized that the “Cruel Summer” singer was improvising after the glitch.
They were impressed with the smooth transition, with one posting a message on X calling Swift a “mastermind” and others commenting on how cleverly she switched it up when she realized there was a malfunction. “Such a pro, I love her,” one X user wrote.
“Her professionalism never fails to impress me,” wrote another fan, as somebody else remarked: “She’s a superstar who knows how to perform.”
“It’s impressive how she keeps the energy up and adapts to any situation during her performances,” commented another impressed fan. “Moments like that make The Eras Tour even more special for fans!”
Swift performed three nights at the Caesars Superdome from October 25 to 27, 2024.
