James pointed out that although the two women laughed and conversed, their smiles quickly faded once they turned away, lacking the exchanged glances and mirroring that suggest a deep connection. “Meghan tended to mirror Pippa more than Kate and to relax a little more while she was talking to her,” James explained.

Behind these public displays, tensions were brewing. In his autobiography, Prince Harry detailed several instances of clashes between Meghan and Kate. One notable incident involved a disagreement over bridesmaid dresses that left Meghan in tears.
