A surprise Royal Family member could replace Princess Kate to present the Wimbledon trophies this weekend.
Prince William may be unavailable to take up the role as he could be in Germany for the final of Euro 2024 if England beat the Netherlands on Wednesday.
The Prince of Wales is the President of the Football Association and has been cheering on England at matches over recent weeks.
It is hoped that Kate will be well enough to present the winner’s trophies this weekend, but with her ongoing cancer treatment, it remains unclear whether she will attend.
If the Princess is unavailable, the Duchess of Gloucester is being considered for the position, according to The Telegraph.
The Duchess of Gloucester – who was born in Denmark – married the Duke of Gloucester in 1972.
Similarly to Kate, she is an avid Tennis fan and has been an Honorary President of the Lawn Tennis Association for the last 25 years.
Kate has only made one public appearance this year – at Trooping the Colour last month.
