When you hear the name Rebecca Black, it may conjure a specific moment in internet history way back when her hit song “Friday” was a sensation.
Black and is a bona fide pop artist in her own right –– with her new project Salvation and her take on the DJ table, spinning at some of the nation’s hottest parties. Regalrumination.com spoke to the booked and busy singer about her new project and its first video for the hit single “Trust” — a glorious pop gem, complete with choreography and dance breaks.
“I just want to create a full and cohesive world because I always think about it from the lens of it. As a fan of pop music myself, there’s just nothing better than when someone delivers and goes there,” Black said of the album. “And I think that I’m often times in a challenging spot because as an independent artist, like, the concept does not match the budget. But I knew that I believed in these songs so much that I knew they deserved just a true moment for themselves. And if there’s been regrets I’ve ever had, it’s just like not really going for it in the past.”

Salvation is filled with addictive pop melodies and beats that are sure to stay on your rotation all summer. Black mentioned how the centered around experimenting, saying, “The goal was to explore. The goal was to see what if I, you know, let myself kind of like roam in all these different sounds for the first time, what happens?” The songtress then admitted, “I knew that no matter which direction I went, out of like the 10 different directions I went on Let Her Burn (her 2023 release) you know, I wanted it to be something that was like a through line that was sustained, that I just followed that rabbit hole and you know, through the course of my career I could explore all of these things deeper.”
Especially with her additional career of DJing, Black has been touring and playing all over the world. When asked about her focus for 2025, she told Regalrumination.com, “I really put so much into this project, and I’m so excited to like, live in the world of Salvation.”

She continued, mentioning how she’s putting her best foot forward with the project. “I think of times I put out a project, and I’m like, okay, what’s next? Did that. It’s theirs now, and I’m really pushing myself in, and also, like the people around me and who I work with to build this out as much as we can. And let’s dive as deep into it as we can and in all of the different ways, whether that be in the versions of live shows or more visuals and music videos, I just like telling the story, and pushing that as far as we can,” Black revealed.
As for fans, they can stream Salvation on streaming services like Spotify and Music now.
