Queen Camilla’s weeks long health crisis was caused by pneumonia, which has left her continuing to experience fatigue, she told guests during a visit by the Emir of Qatar.

The 77-year-old was originally supposed to play a bigger role in the monarchy’s full welcome ceremony for Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and his wife Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani.

However, she scrapped her part in the outdoor elements, including a full royal carriage procession, as she is yet to make a full recovery one month on from what Buckingham Palace originally described as a chest infection.

During the visit, though, she told guests it had in fact been pneumonia that struck her down, though it has now cleared, the reported.
