Kate has gained a reputation as one of the royal family’s sportiest members, displaying a passion for tennis, hockey, sailing, rugby and swimming. Since her marriage to in 2011, Kate has demonstrated many of these during official engagements, with some events raising money for charity.
In 2022, Kate became the patron of the Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League in England, being appointed by . when he stepped down as a working royal two years earlier.
Since taking on the roles, Kate has attended a number of rugby-themed events, including training sessions with the England teams in 2022 and 2023.

Gaining more than 270,000 views, the clip shows Kate taking part in a lineout drill, which saw the royal being lifted into the air to catch a ball being thrown into play.
Kate also tried her hand at kicking, catching and passing along the line with the team’s stars.
The video has received in excess of 2,300 likes and numerous comments, many of which have praised the princess and referenced her recent health challenges.
“That’s a real princess, beautiful Kate,” wrote one TikTok fan.
“A wonderful queen she will be,” posted another, with a further comment reading: “Prayers for Princess Catherine and family.”
