Fans went crazy when they noticed the warm gestures of the young royals at the event, especially Princess Charlotte. Catherine’s three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—appeared beside their mom at the Trooping the Colour event on June 15th. The family rode into the King’s birthday celebration in a carriage, but due to rainy weather, their windows had steamed up, meaning they were unable to wave to the adoring crowds outside.

Princess Charlotte was seen making an adorable gesture of support to her mom, Catherine. Mother and daughter took to cleaning the window so they could greet the royal fans, but at one point, Catherine, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, stopped wiping. 

Her dutiful daughter continued and cleaned up the carriage’s main window for the two of them. This heartwarming moment captured the attention of onlookers and highlighted the close bond between Catherine and Charlotte.

Charlotte’s attention wasn’t just on the window, as she had to take responsibility for her cheeky little brother, Prince Louis, too. At several points, 9-year-old Charlotte would dart a glance at Louis to make sure he was behaving. 

This dual role of supporting her mother and keeping an eye on her younger brother showcased Charlotte’s maturity and sense of responsibility.

On Buckingham Palace’s balcony, as the procession marched by below, Louis danced to the live music, swaying his shoulders and his hips. Charlotte did her best to rein him in, but he paid her no mind. This amusing interaction added a touch of levity to the event and reminded everyone of the playful nature of the young royals. 

Fans of the royal family were touched by these moments, taking to social media to express their admiration for Charlotte’s caring nature and Catherine’s strength. Catherine and her daughter even wore matching outfits for the event. Catherine was in a Jenny Packham dress with a Philip Treacy hat, and Charlotte in a classic navy blue frock featuring a striking white trim and traditional sailor collar, adding a timeless touch to her look. Both wore white shoes, which finished off their outfits perfectly. Each of their looks also featured bows and had an underlying nautical style, making a subtle tribute to the history of the royal family and the sailor outfits worn by royal children for decades, ever since the reign of Queen Victoria. This matching attire helps send a message that mother and daughter are united amidst their family struggle.

Ever since her very earliest appearances, Charlotte’s look has regularly coordinated with her mother’s. Whether it’s been Easter Sunday services, outings on Christmas day, or engagements abroad, Charlotte has been a style mini-me of Catherine. 

Even when their outfits are not exactly matching, Catherine ensures there is still subtle coordination. She and Charlotte might wear the same color but not the same shade, or the Princess of Wales will dress her daughter in a hue that complements her accessories. 

In addition to their coordinated outfits, the strong bond between Catherine and Charlotte was evident in their interactions throughout the event. Charlotte’s supportive gestures towards her mother and her attentiveness to her younger brother highlighted the close-knit nature of the royal family.
