Prince William’s joking moments with members of the public while out and about on royal engagements, and his wife Princess Kate’s reactions, have been praised by fans in a new viral video. The couple were recently photographed attending church together in Scotland, amid the princess’

William and Kate after meeting at the University of St Andrews in Scotland a decade earlier. Together, they have three children: , born in 2013; , born in 2015; and , born in 2018.

The Wales family took on increased public focus at the beginning of 2024 when Kate stepped out of the royal spotlight, . The princess underwent major abdominal surgery in January. and in March announced that she had been recommended a course of preventive chemotherapy treatment following a cancer diagnosis.

Kate made her of the year at the Trooping the Colour celebrations in London in June and attended the Wimbledon men’s tennis championship final in the English capital in July.

In the absence of regular new joint appearances from William and Kate, fans have taken to social media to spotlight favorite past events and moments shared publicly between the couple.

Uploaded to by user @kittywaless this month, a compilation of showing William cracking jokes and making humorous comments at official events, with Kate watching amusingly on, has been viewed over 147,000 times on the platform so far.

The opening footage used in the post shows the moment William joked that he was going to “shoot some hoops” during a 2014 reception in New York, where he and Kate were undertaking a brief official visit.

As the prince performed a dunking gesture after his comment, Kate appeared to giggle at her husband’s expense.

Additional footage showed the moment in 2019 where William accidentally labeled his wife as an “uncle.”

After the birth of and ‘s son, , William and Kate were asked if they were excited about the news during a visit in London.

“Yes absolutely, [I’m an] uncle, second time for me,” he said in reference to the fact that he became an uncle by marriage to the son of Kate’s sister, Pippa Matthews, in 2018. “And you as well,” he said with a gesture to Kate.

The princess pulled a face in mock bafflement, jokingly responding: “I’m definitely not an uncle.”

An additional clip also included the moment Kate tried her hand at archery target shooting during the weekend of celebrations held to mark the coronation of in 2023.

The princess took up a bow and arrow with William and her three children. When she hit the target, her husband congratulated her with the children, saying: “Oh, mommy that was good!”

Captioned “Oh mummy,” the post has received over 13,000 likes and numerous comments so far, many of which have praised the future king and queen and their dynamic.

“They are such adorable couple,” wrote one TikTok user.

“She clearly loves her man’s goofy side. I mean, good for her,” posted another, with a further comment reading: “Love them.”
