Prince William “turned into a fanboy” when he met in Paris, according to a viral video of their body language.

The Prince of Wales was dispatched to France for the Cathedral, in Paris, affording him a chance to sit down with the President-elect after the ceremony.

The cathedral had been ravaged by fire in 2019 and painstakingly rebuilt in the years since, ready for a renaissance in 2024.

And William had a chance to pitch the U.K.-U.S. “special relationship” ahead of Trump’s own renaissance in January when he begins his second term following a wave of prosecutions and court cases.

One observer on X, formerly Twitter, went viral after posting footage of their meeting and writing: “Prince William turned into a fanboy as soon as he saw President Donald Trump. The world knows the boss man is back.”

The post was liked 58k times and viewed 2.5 million times after it showed William standing in the newly renovated cathedral waiting for his turn to meet the President-elect.

The pair then shared a few warm words that were not picked up by a microphone before Trump went to take his seat.

They met again after the ceremony at the British Embassy’s residence in Paris where they were able to hold a sit-down face-to-face meeting.

If William did turn into a “fanboy” then his warm approach was certainly reciprocated as Trump later told the New York Post: “He’s a very handsome man. Some people look better in person, and he looked great.”

“I asked him about his wife, and he said she’s doing well,” Trump said. “I also asked about his father, and he said his father is fighting very hard. He loves his father, and he loves his wife, so it’s a sad situation.

“We had a great talk—about half an hour, maybe a little longer. It was really wonderful.”

At the photo op, Trump was filmed telling journalists “he’s a good man” and that William was “doing a fantastic job.”

When asked for comment about the meeting, Karoline Leavitt, Trump-Vance Transition spokesperson said: “President Trump returned to the world stage and was greeted with enthusiasm by world leaders who know President Trump will fix the chaos and restore peace through strength, just like he did in his first term. America is back.”

In Britain, there has been much speculation about a schism between Trump and the U.K. Labour Party, who sent staff to help campaigners ahead of November’s election.

Much of the discussion has also focused on past remarks made by senior Labour politicians years previously.

Eric Trump recently commented on the saga: “I have a general rule and that’s not getting involved in other country’s politics.

“We have people who dabble in U.S. politics all the time from all over the world, it never quite works and as a U.S. citizen, it pisses me off.”

With those comments in recent memory, both the palace and the British Government will likely be very happy with Trump’s account of the meeting with William.
