Though he often now chooses high-end brands, there was a time when Prince Harry could be spotted shopping at a popular discount designer store.
In his younger years, he would grab bargains at T. K. Maxx in Kensington, just stone’s throw from his home, and was photographed occasionally leaving with its trademark red logo on a carrier bag.
The Prince revealed in his book, Spare, how he would visit the High Street shop for his ‘casual clothes’.
It seems to be a different approach to his wardrobe in recent years – Harry has been seen wearing luxurious loafers by Loro Piana and custom made Dior suits.
However, he used to search for bargains and wrote, ‘I was particularly fond of their once-a-year sale, when they’d be flush with items from Gap or J. Crew, items that had gone out of season or were slightly damaged’.
Since the book’s release two years ago, T. K. Maxx disputed that it did annual sales and a spokesperson told the Express: ‘Whilst we’re delighted he is a big fan, we thought we should explain we don’t actually do sales.
‘Instead, we offer great value, style, and savings all year round.’
The Duke of Sussex described a method that he said meant he could ‘look like a fashion plate’ for ‘two hundred quid’.
He would kit himself out with a new wardrobe by ‘systematically walking up one rack and down another’ and holding the item up to his body to quickly see if it fit, he wrote.

The Prince would go for clothes that ‘looked nice, comfortable’ and wasn’t concerned about the ‘colour or style’.
In 2013, Harry was photographed leaving T. K. Maxx after he reportedly bagged a T-shirt, hoody and an iPhone case for £160 according to The Mirror.
His clothing choices around a decade ago were certainly different to now.
Back in 2011, he had the same Le Chameau Vierzon wellington boots as Princess Kate which retailed at £220.
They proved to be perfect for watching a football match near Sandringham on Christmas Eve that year.
During a visit to the Bahamas in 2012, Harry was spotted wearing a pair of tan desert-style boots from Russell & Bromley.
The Mail’s Rebecca English reported at the time how the style, called ‘Chuck’, were sold for £115.
The Princess of Wales has been known to wear Russell & Bromley on several occasions.

During an outing for the Invictus Games in 2017, Harry wore a pair of £70 Dockers chinos to a cycling event in High Park in Toronto.
They must have been a favourite of the Royal as he reportedly sported them for three days in a row.
Harry wore an Arc’teryx padded coat during a Heads Together event with Prince William and Kate at Olympic Park the same year.
Styles similar to Harry’s navy jacket are sold for around £300 and the Prince has certainly got his money’s worth and has been seen wearing it several times.
More recently, Harry’s style has shifted towards pricier designer brands.
He boasted a pair of Loro Piana loafers in Nigeria in May that have a £500 price tag.
During the same trip, which he completed with his wife Meghan Markle, Harry also wore a cream jacket by the same brand. Similar styles are on sale for £3,000.
According to Town and Country, Harry wore a luxurious Giorgio Armani suit at the 2024 EPSYS awards ceremony in Los Angeles in July.
Similar suits cost over £2,000 on the designer’s website, and Harry looked dapper as he accepted the Pat Tillman Award for Service.

He also seems to be particularly fond of Dior, and has worn multiple pieces by the fashion house in recent years.
For the King’s Coronation in 2023, the Prince wore a bespoke three-piece suit designed by Dior’s artistic director Kim Jones.
Harry’s mother, the late Princess Diana, was also a fan of Dior and wore their designs in the months before her death, including at the Met Gala in 1996.
Back in 2018 however, the Prince went for a different fashion house and wore a three-piece Givenchy suit to Princess Eugenie’s wedding.
