As Princess Lilibet, daughter of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, marks her third birthday, the couple opted for a private celebration, excluding the royal family from the guest list.
According to insights from The Mirror, royal commentator Tom Quinn revealed that the former working royals chose to commemorate Lilibet’s special day with an intimate gathering at their Montecito residence.
Eschewing extravagant gestures, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex extended invitations to close celebrity friends, such as Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, along with their daughter Daisy. Notably absent from the festivities were any members of the royal family.
Describing the occasion, Tom Quinn remarked, “Rather than opting for a low-key affair, Harry and Meghan spent the past weekend reveling in a pre-birthday bash for their daughter Lillibet’s third birthday.” He emphasized the absence of lavish gifts while highlighting the presence of prominent personalities at the couple’s California mansion.
Tom further noted the surprising omission of invitations to Lilibet’s celebration for royal family members, suggesting ongoing tensions between the California-based couple and King Charles, particularly in the aftermath of their trip to Nigeria.
