It seems like Prince Andrew might be coming out ahead in the game of life compared to Prince Harry, experts are cautioning. Royal commentator Daniela Elser shared these observations and concerns in a recent piece for News.com.au.

Elser delved into the financial burden Prince Andrew places on King Charles by residing in royal accommodations. She pointed out that Charles currently spends roughly $5.7 million (£3 million) annually on Andrew’s security alone, as the duke lost his government-funded protection in 2022. 

Additionally, Andrew receives an allowance from his brother, which is estimated to exceed $1.9 million (£1 million) per year.

Elser crunched the numbers, revealing that since the passing of the late Queen, Charles has expended nearly $15 million on supporting his brother. 

However, she refrained from dwelling too long on Andrew’s fortunate financial situation, as she pivoted to discussing the larger issue of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s situation.

She highlighted the stark contrast between Andrew’s seemingly carefree lifestyle and the challenges faced by Harry and Meghan, who have stepped back from royal duties. 

While Andrew enjoys the benefits of royal patronage without the responsibilities, Harry and Meghan are navigating their own path outside of the traditional royal framework.

In essence, Elser emphasized the irony that while Andrew lounges comfortably, Harry and Meghan could have been recipients of similar royal generosity had they chosen to remain within the fold.
