Millennials are being hit with waves of nostalgia after the sounds of their childhood are popping up on their phone screens.
It’s all thanks to David, 32, who lives in Georgia with his spouse and two children, and like many millennials, has a soft spot for the 90s.
He has amassed a huge online following on his page, @thenostalgicmillennial_, which shares memories from times gone by — everything from clips of TV shows and classic games, to just a simple sound that brings everything back.
He explained to Regalrumination.com: “I love everything from the 90s/2000s era, and think it was the best pop culture era of all time, and have so many fond childhood memories from it.”
He set up his social media accounts, initially named “Ouch! Right in the Childhood,” before rebranding as “Dave the Nostalgia Guy,” and finally settling on The Nostalgic Millennial.
David, who also loves “sharing my memories with my kids and family,” recently went viral with a video that had a very simple premise: “Out of the you’re about to hear, which one hits you the hardest?”

In , viewed close to 3 million times and boasting more than 220,000 likes, multiple short clips play one after another: the Gracie Films “shh!” that played at the end of The Simpsons, the Touchstone Television and Klasky Csupo theme, the theme for Walt Home Video, the iconic animated X-Men song, and much more.
And millennial viewers had a huge response, with over 12,000 people leaving comments, including one who wrote that the first one “knocked me out.”
Another declared the Klasky Csupo theme “unlocked a core memory,” while one wrote: “The Walt Disney Video just hits differently, unlocking some memories of watching Jungle Book, Robin Hood, Basil the Great Mouse Detective, the Rescuers (just to name a few). Great times!”
“Gracie Films reminds me of watching The Simpsons with my dad,” another recalled.

When you’re, activity occurs in the hippocampus, ventral striatum, and substantial nigra-ventral tegmental area of the brain, according to a medically-reviewed report from .
These interconnected brain regions are involved in reward, motivation, learning, and memory, however scientists are still researching how the systems work together to generate the feeling of nostalgia.
David told Regalrumination.com he “wanted to share the love of those memories with others and give them a chance to reminisce their childhood and all of those memories as well.”
“I make tons of videos all the time with the sounds because I know it can trigger a happy core memory response with my audience, and that in turn, when they comment on the video, [it] helps me connect with them on a deeper level.”
