Two new parents have been praised for doing their best for their daughter as they figure out parenthood together—even if their daughter seems bewildered by it all.
Jaron Clayton, 38, and Maggie, 33, have been married for 14 years, and in February of this year welcomed their first child, baby girl Aria Jean.
The family, who live in Oregon, regularly share snippets of their life on their account @theblondebrewer, named after the brewery they ran together before the COVID-19 pandemic forced its closure.
They then turned to social media “as a creative outlet”, which they now do full-time—and baby Aria Jean has joined the crew.
“We’ve always been very career-focused in our life and didn’t ever think we would start a family,” Clayton told Regalrumination.com. “One day out of the blue we both mutually internally agreed that it may be .
“When we spoke with each other and realized we were both on the same page, there was no turning back.”
After “some difficulty” getting pregnant, they finally received the news that Maggie was expecting—and Aria Jean’s due date was their wedding anniversary, with the couple knowing “it was meant to be.”
But as many parents will agree, and becoming responsible for a newborn can be an overwhelming feeling—and of Clayton showcasing this has now gone viral.

Posted to their page on April 1 and boasting close to 140,000 likes, it showed Clayton holding Aria Jean, dancing and rocking her to the Britney Spears song Toxic, while his baby daughter looked up at him with a look of utter bafflement.
The couple wrote over the video: “It’s crazy how our baby has no choice but to trust us with her precious little life and we’re here raising her on searches, TikToks, and Britney Spears.”
They added in a caption: “We’re surviving so far.”
TikTok users responded in their droves, sharing their own stories and assuring the parents they’re doing great, as one put it: “At least you have Google and TikTok, I raised mine with a hope and a prayer.”
“I had old wives tales, 80s hair bands and weird neighbors,” another added, as one declared, “I raised my kids purely on ‘motherly instinct’ and ‘intuition’.”
“Making it up as you go is how we all do it,” another assured them. “That trust is the most important thing you’ll ever have, protect it, even when it’s hard. It makes the teen years easier.”
Others jokingly pointed out Aria Jean’s face in the video, one laughing: “She is probably thinking, ‘Oh God, these people are my emergency contacts.'”
“She is like ‘God help me’,” another joked, while one described it: “The smushed baby face is priceless, love her.”
Clayton said he and Maggie are “so grateful that the response from online has been very supportive from the start,” adding it “makes us so happy that we can bring our audience along with us through this.”
“Maggie struggled postpartum quite a bit and the support and suggestions from our audience was extremely helpful knowing that other moms had the same struggle and were there for support.”
The average age of first-time mothers in the United States has grown steadily over the decades. In 2021, the average woman gave birth for the first time at 27.3 years old, up from 25.6 a decade prior, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Things are getting “a little easier” now, Clayton added, with Maggie feeling “more like herself again” and Aria beginning to sleep a little more and show her personality—including her love for her dad’s dances.
“We’ve found that she loves when we sing and dance with her, and if she’s fussy, she loves dad to do squats while holding her; it quiets her right down,” he said.
“It has been a huge life adjustment for us but we’re loving every moment with our new baby girl.”
