The Invictus Games, a paralympic-style competition for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women, is meant to celebrate resilience, sportsmanship, and the inspiring spirit of those who served their country.
However, the upcoming Invictus Games in Canada have been engulfed in controversy due to alleged demands from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
According to a source, the Sussexes submitted a list of extravagant requests that have sparked outrage among many organizers and veterans.
These demands reportedly include private jets for themselves and their entourage, excessive security detail surpassing protocol, and a team of stylists and personal chefs at their disposal.
There are murmurs suggesting that Meghan Markle may be using the Invictus Games as a platform to re-enter the spotlight, fueling speculation about the true motives behind the reported demands.
However, this controversy is more about image management than honoring veterans. Angela Levin, a distinguished journalist and Prince Harry’s biographer, discussed the event on GB News America with Mark Dolan.
Dolan mentioned that 2,000 ex-military personnel have left the games because they felt that the Invictus Games had lost its original meaning. Some veterans allegedly want its founder, Prince Harry, to step down.
Levin believes that veterans may have felt this way due to Meghan Markle’s increased involvement in the games. According to her, the Invictus Games has become mainly about Meghan, with Harry following behind.
She explained that many veterans were upset because Meghan led a march despite having no experience in military matters. They felt that the attention should be on them, not on Meghan.
Levin also criticized Meghan’s alleged extraordinary attitude, suggesting that she thinks she’s better than everyone else. Another royal expert claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could face trouble if they don’t conduct themselves well at the Invictus Games.
Dr. Sona Kapur, a clinical psychologist, emphasized the importance of open communication and mutual support between partners to ensure success in such situations.
