After months away from the royal spotlight, the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) made her first public appearance since revealing her cancer diagnosis at this year’s Trooping the Colour. When she announced she would be attending the event, Prince William’s wife acknowledged that she’s “not out of the woods yet.”

My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months.” Kate wrote in a post on Instagram. “On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home. 

I’m looking forward to attending the king’s birthday parade … and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet.”

Many are now hoping for more updates on Kate’s health in the coming weeks and months, but a royal expert says that’s not happening because King Charles has already “closed the door” on having his daughter-in-law make any new announcements.
