After years of reports and rumors that Prince Harry is relentlessly making efforts to reconcile with his father and getting shunned in return, the duke put an end to the gossip by confirming that yes, he has been trying to reunite with his father and only getting hurtful silence in return. And guess what? King Charles has confirmed that he harbors zero sympathy and care for his youngest son.

Harry recently lost his long and gruelling battle with the U.K. over the majorly diluted security he and his family were being provided in the country. While he has visited Britain multiple times since he and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior royals and left the palace with Prince Archie, he has refused to bring his wife and kids with him. His reason? Despite not being a senior royal anymore and not actively engaging, he remains a target for those seeking to harm the Royal family.

His reason for wanting to bring his kids to the U.K.? Harry wants them to learn about their heritage and reunite with their grandfather, as well as their cousins. Seems that dream is crushed for the foreseeable future and apparently, Charles doesn’t give a damn.

In the palace’s first official response to Harry’s battle with the court, a palace spokesperson put forward a very dry and uncaring answer:

“All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.”

After dismissing Harry’s appeal on May 2, Judge Sir Geoffrey Vos stressed that the level of security the duke is currently getting in Britain during his visits is “appropriate depending on the circumstances.”

Could King Charles have done something to change the decision of the courts? Harry definitely thinks so and believes that his father was being deliberately silent and aloof on the topic. Meanwhile, royal experts have repeatedly stated that intervening in this case would be deemed inappropriate for the monarch since it’s outside his control and any jurisdiction he holds in the country.

Maybe that’s true. But the weirder and rather heartbreaking fact is that Charles didn’t hesitate for a second to pay for his disgraced brother Prince Andrew’s security when it was withdrawn post the revelation of his association with Jeffrey Epstein. The king reportedly covered the costs of Andrew’s private security, which were estimated at nearly $4 million annually. Or how he paid for Camille’s security before he married her.

Andrew brought unerasing shame to the Royal family, and yet, Charles stood by his side. Is Harry penning a book to air a few of his grievances and leaving the palace for the sake of his sanity a bigger crime than that?
