Wedding-goers were left speechless when a talented little girl surprised the bride by performing her favorite song.
Juniper is eight years old and has a talent for music, regularly singing with her uncle, TJ, who recently made a request of his new niece: to perform at his wedding to Juniper’s aunt, Aspen.
Juniper’s mother, Vashni Safranske, told Regalrumination.com her daughter “plays music with TJ, the groom, almost nightly, and for about a week or so prior to the wedding he started playing the music and handed [Juniper] his phone with the lyrics and told her it was Aspen’s favorite song.”
TJ had hoped Juniper would sing the track at the wedding, but at first, Juniper was against it. Safranske explaining she “wanted to focus on her flower girl duties,” and so the family respected her choice and left it alone.
But, during the reception, Safranske said, after another guest played a song during a speech, “Juniper looked over to me and said, ‘Mom ,’ so I told her to go for it.”
After saying a few words, Juniper announced she would be . And TJ, who was in the middle of a meal with his new bride, “put his plate aside and came up to play the song.”
of Juniper and TJ performing Aspen’s favorite track — Radiohead’s “Creep”—has now gone viral since being shared to Safranske’s account, @_vashni_, on January 11.
Boasting over 2 million views and 410,000 likes, proud mom Safranske wrote over the clip: “When your daughter interrupts her auntie’s wedding dinner to steal the groom and sing her aunt’s favorite love song for her on her wedding day.”
It shows Juniper sitting on a chair swinging her feet, the microphone up to her lips as she reads the lyrics from a phone, TJ playing beside her on a guitar.
And she sings the iconic song perfectly: the room is silent listening to her—apart from a ripple of laughter as the eight-year-old drops the F-word while following along with the lyrics.
At one point, the camera pans to bride Aspen, who is watching her niece and new husband with pride, mouthing along to the lyrics herself.
TikTok users were in awe, as one commenter asked: “How old is she?! She has such a BEAUTIFUL voice,” and another declared it was “unironically and genuinely one of the best covers of this song I’ve ever heard and you tell her I said that!”
“Oh my god her voice is so beautiful. PUT HER IN CLASSES,” another pleaded, which Safranske confirmed they were looking into to help protect her daughter’s voice.
Taking lessons with a professional voice instructor can help protect your voice by helping you define your range, smoothing your bridge, and keeping your voice healthy. Vocalists are at risk of straining their vocal cords, with symptoms including a pinching sensation in the throat, hoarseness and scratchiness.
One commenter called it “such a special video and even more special family.” And one pointed out Aspen, writing “the bride is fricken gorgeoussss. And I love the smile on her face watching her sing.”
Proud mom Safranske, 35 and from Tulsa, Oklahoma, told Regalrumination.com Juniper had never sung in front of people before, and they were “very excited that she decided to do it.”
She was also, she admitted, shocked at how popular the video became. Her sister had “spent weeks asking me to post the video” after on December 22.
“I very much operate with the idea that my daughter’s social media footprint is not for me to decide so I don’t post her on my social media accounts but my sister and my daughter had both been asking and so I caved,” she explained.
“It has brought Juniper so much pride to see the beautiful comments people are leaving on the video, and so much happiness to me for people to not only see her doing something she loves, but to also see the bond that Juniper has with her aunt and uncle.”
