Well, it looks like there may be a path for Prince Harry to redeem himself in the eyes of the royal family after all. According to palace insiders, the Windsors would be willing to “forgive and welcome back” the Duke of Sussex – but there’s a catch.
The caveat? Harry has to ditch his wife, Meghan Markle, and return to the UK solo.
That’s right, folks. The royals are apparently so fed up with the Duchess of Sussex’s antics that they’re willing to give Harry a free pass, as long as he agrees to cut ties with his American-born spouse.
“The family misses Harry terribly and would be overjoyed to have him back,” a so-called “palace source” told a British tabloid. “But Meghan is persona non grata. She’s the one they can’t forgive.”
It seems the royals have reached their limit when it comes to Meghan’s purported diva behavior and her perceived efforts to undermine the monarchy. From her explosive Oprah interview to the couple’s lucrative multimillion-dollar media deals, the gloves are apparently off.
“Meghan has burned too many bridges. The trust is completely broken,” the insider claimed. “But Harry is still family, and they’d welcome him home in a heartbeat – as long as he comes alone.”
Of course, the prospect of the Duke of Sussex ditching his wife of three years seems highly unlikely. The couple have long professed their unbreakable bond, and Meghan has proven herself to be a fierce protector of her husband’s interests.
Still, the royals appear to be banking on Harry’s deep-seated desire to reconnect with his kin – even if it means leaving Meghan behind.
“They know Harry is torn. On one hand, he’s desperately homesick and wants his old life back,” the source continued. “But on the other, he’s completely devoted to Meghan. It’s a real Catch-22 for him.”
And with the family supposedly willing to shower Harry with love and support, the pressure may soon become too much for the renegade royal to bear.
“If Harry shows up on their doorstep alone, they’ll welcome him with open arms,” the insider concluded. “But Meghan? Not a chance in hell.”
