King Charles and Camilla arrived in Edinburgh on Tuesday for a series of events in Scotland, including a celebration of the 900th anniversary of the city of Edinburgh.

As is customary, the King is set to host a garden party in the grounds of the Palace of Holyroodhouse. I’m sure everyone will agree every good garden party requires good food.

Outsiders may be curious as to what chefs are cooking up with the aim of impressing the King and his visitors on Tuesday, as Edinburgh Live reports from behind the scenes at Holyrood.

While the spread looks impressive indeed, most of the options are centred around sandwiches and small bites, as opposed to your typical sausage rolls and pizza. This is a sophisticated gathering of the highest order, after all.
