It was sad news for Foo Fighters fans on Wednesday night as the band was forced to end their concert early due to “dangerous weather.”

While the band was playing at Citi Field in Queens, New York, a thunderstorm passed over the Tri-State area. Even though the Foo Fighters usually play a 20-plus-song setlist, they only managed to get through thirteen tracks. As they started to perform “Everlong,” the concert was cut short due to safety concerns.

Regalrumination.com emailed a spokesperson for the Foo Fighters for comment on Thursday.

The venue confirmed that the show had “concluded” on X, formerly , and a separate statement was also posted to the band’s X account.

“We are so disappointed that we were unable to play our full set for tonight’s fantastic crowd at Citi Field. But the safety of our fans, the crew and everyone working in the stadium comes first, so when it was determined that there was no safe way to continue the show in this dangerous weather, we had no choice but to call it a night,” the band’s statement reads.

“We’re grateful for every second we were able to play for you and looking forward to seeing you again – maybe as soon as Friday!”

The band is scheduled to play a second night at Citi Field on Friday.

The majority of fans online have supported the decision and thanked the band for a great performance despite the circumstances.

“Dave Grohl and @foofighters were absolutely ON FIRE AND ROCKING @CitiField tonight until a crazy storm came passing through, having to cut the show short. They handled the situation so cool and so professionally, As disappointing as it was to have a shortened show, nothing but admiration for Dave and the band, and they put on one of the best rock and roll shows I have ever seen. A must see show and We will see them again!!” one fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

“Thank you for the songs you were able to play. I took my girls to see you for their first time and they are already begging to see you the next time you come around. You made the right call tonight. See you the next time you’re around!” another fan posted.

“S*** Happens! Rock the f*** on! Extremely grateful for the time we had! You guys never disappoint! Thank you!!” a concert attendee wrote.

However, others expressed their disappointment and requested refunds for the show cut short.

“Fans come second I guess. We got half a show, but won’t get any refund. To actually say ‘maybe as soon as Friday’ is beyond tone deaf. It costs a lot of money to just see you guys once, and most of us can’t afford to do it twice,” one social media user wrote on X.

“I love you guys but we need the other half of the shows. We missed many bangers, please,” another disgruntled fan said.

A third person wrote: “Give us tickets to the [Friday] show. We all got shafted tonight.”

At the time of writing, neither the band nor the stadium has made a statement about refunds or partial refunds.

Foo Fighters are currently on their “Everything or Nothing at All Tour,” which ends in August. They are scheduled to play Citi Field again on Friday night.

This news comes after Grohl questioned the authenticity of ‘s live performances.

“I tell you, man. You don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift,” Grohl told the crowd at Foo Fighters’ London Stadium show on Saturday, June 22, quipping that the band calls their tour “The Errors Tour”—a nickname fans good-naturedly bestowed upon Swift’s Eras Tour—because “we’ve had more than a few eras and more than a few… errors, as well,” the singer explained, before stating: “That’s because we actually play live. What?!”
