Gail Porter and Sir Ian Rankin joined the King and Queen for a party at Edinburgh Castle to celebrate the city’s 900th anniversary.

It comes after a service earlier today where new knights and ladies were welcomed into the Order of the Thistle – including Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh.

The King and Queen were greeted by bhangra dancers and music from a local accordion player.
