The instruction you provide includes the standard practices, methods, and procedures of the automotive mechanic trade involving the inspection, repair, and overhaul of automotive equipment such as automobiles, trucks, buses, and other motorized heavy equipment. You can expect to maintain order and discipline of the inmates during work assignments and classroom instruction. In this position, you will oversee and direct inmate work crews in completing automotive mechanic work orders as part of the on-the-job training provided. - Full-time employment, 40 hour work week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please Note: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $48,425 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in the diagnosis, maintenance, repair, and replacement of various components and systems used in automobiles, trucks, or construction or heavy equipment; or
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the automotive mechanic trade; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the automotive mechanic trade.
Special Requirements:
- All positions require an active Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning Technician Certificate issued by an approved provider.
- All positions require possession of an active motor vehicle license.
