has been performing his hit songs all over the world for decades, but a recent concert in Connecticut didn’t go as planned. The 75-year-old singer was on stage at Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino on Saturday, February 22, when he fell during his performance.
At one point during the show, Joel got up from his piano and started playing with the microphone stand while performing It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me. Toward the end of the song, he grabbed the stand and flung it in the air, but appeared to lose his balance, ending up on the ground.

A few people in the audience shared videos on social media. Some people took to to react to Joel’s fall, with many concerned that he had injured himself.
“Oh my gosh he looks like he was hurt,” one person wrote. “Ozempic Joel,” someone else said, insinuating that the singer had lost weight by using GLP-1 medications.
“That fall at the end had me worried. I saw him a couple years ago and he’s still got it.. sounds great and he’s having a great time…maybe just stay on your two feet, Billy,” a third comment read.
“Dangerous fall being 75,” another user weighed in.
Joel didn’t appear to be hurt, however, as he rolled over and laid sprawled out on his back as the crowd cheered loudly for him.
The native doesn’t seem to have any plans to retire, as evidenced by his , which has dates through November 2025.
In July 2023, Joel told the that he’s still very into making music.
“I’m writing all the time, but I’m not always recording,” he told the outlet. “I have this image of ‘I’m the least glamorous popstar there is.’ I just sit at the piano. I’m in my 70s, I am not a matinee idol, so why are you coming to see me in the first place? But you know, it all has to do with the music, it’s all about music.”
