Comedian has reiterated his prediction that singer ‘s romance with star will end with a breakup.
The couple’s relationship , when Swift attended a football game to cheer on Kelce and his Kansas City Chiefs teammates. Since then, Swift has become a fixture at Chiefs games—even to watch the team triumph at last year’s Super Bowl.
Kelce has returned the favor. During Swift’s , the 35-year-old was on hand to support Swift, also 35, as she performed shows around the world.
While the couple’s every move has excited fans and sparked many a viral moment across social media, TV personality Maher of their romance during a
Regalrumination.com has contacted representatives of Swift and Kelce via email for comment.
During a discussion with country music singer Luke Bryan, Maher said that he didn’t “quite get the music” that Swift puts out. Bryan defended the singer-songwriter, saying that she “worked her butt off to earn those fans.”
“I admire her,” Maher said. “Yeah, the music either works or it doesn’t. But as a human, I have great admiration, because to be that far up in the stratosphere and not be doing anything stupid, be still a good role model, basically. You know, she’s had a bunch of boyfriends …”
“The only thing people can say about her [is] she’s had boyfriends?” Bryan responded. “Then she goes and lands Travis Kelce and then it’s like, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s crushing it.”‘
“She’s with Travis Kelce, which is crazy,” Bryan said later in the conversation.
“So what?” Maher responded. “First of all, that’s gonna end.”
Maher asked Bryan if he wanted to make a bet on the fate of the stars’ relationship, which the singer declined.
“I want to go on record saying—and this is not a knock on either one of them, I think they’re both fine people—but that relationship is going to end like [the stage name of] Rihanna’s [partner]: ASAP and Rocky.”
“No, but, look, Travis is not the keeper—he’s just not,” Maher pressed on. “I mean, he’s not yet ready to be house-trained. He’s not. And he’s going to be coming off another Super Bowl.”
“I’m not getting into any of that,” Bryan told the host.
“Of course, you shouldn’t, but I’m just telling you,” Maher responded. “He’s you 20 years ago with more liquor in him.”
Maher made last July, when he welcomed Haliey Welch, known widely online as the “,” onto his podcast.
Maher said of Swift: “Look, I’m sure she’s a lovely person, but the whole thing with the football player. I just felt like 35 is a little old to be like, ‘My boyfriend’s a football player and I wear his jersey to the game with his number on it.’ Right? I mean, come on.”
Welch defended the couple, saying: “Whatever makes her happy. If that’s what she wants to do and it makes her happy, it ain’t got nothing to do with me.”
“I know,” Maher said, before adding: “He’s gonna dump her, though, you know that. I mean with her, it’s like the Gatorade at the Super Bowl—you know you’re going to get dumped; you just don’t know when.”
“But you got to think about it this way; if he does that, can you imagine the next album we’re going to get off that?” Welch asked.
“Yes, I can,” Maher responded with a laugh.
