Alicia Keys is a proud stepmom.
On Sunday, December 22, the posted a birthday tribute on in honor of her stepson, Kassem Jr. (KJ), turning 18 years old. The “Girl on Fire” songstress has been married to record producer Swizz Beatz since 2010, making her stepmom to his son KJ, whom he shares with his ex-wife Mashonda Tifrere.
The singer-songwriter posted a carousel on the platform with 19 photos celebrating KJ, including family vacations, birthdays, and an award show where KJ posed with actor Daniel Radcliffe. The first photo features a sweet selfie of the pair with their faces touching. For the second photo, Keys included a picture of herself with KJ, Beatz, 46, and Tifrere, 46, on a boat celebrating the teen’s college acceptance.
The 16-time Grammy Award winner penned a heartfelt caption for her post where she gushed about how bright KJ’s future is.
“My amazing young king @yayachronicles !! You are totally unstoppable!! I’m so excited about every moment this year is going to bring!! This is just the beginning of things you can’t even imagine!” Keys wrote. “Keep working hard and bringing that light and gratitude, everywhere you go!!!! The blessings of tomorrow will be greater than we can everimagine today!!!”
The “If I Ain’t Got You” singer also congratulated KJ on getting into New York University in her caption, writing, “I love you Kassy!! Always your Umi!!! 😍😍😍 Congratulations on NYU babyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!! letssss gooooo!!!!!!!!”
